Signet keeps a record of every event on an agreement: created, sent, opened, signed and sealed, along with who, when and from where.
The trail is append-only and tamper-evident, which means events are never edited or removed, and any attempt to change the record is detectable. It's included on the certificate of completion, so the full history travels with the finished document.
